I hope that your families enjoyed a wonderful summer vacation!

Last year I created my very first blog!  It is my hope that this blog provides you with information and resources that can help you to support, promote and enhance your child’s speech and language skills and overall communication!

If you should have any questions, comments or concerns about your child’s communication therapy this year, please feel free to contact me at Charlton Elementary School at 508-248-7774 or by district email at aberman@dcrsd.org.

If there is a topic or skill that you would like more information on, please do not hesitate to let me know!

I look forward to working with you and your child this year!

Starting a new school year can be an exciting experience, however some children can find change difficult to manage.

You can support your child to prepare for these changes by:
 Visiting the new school with your child,
 Talking about landmarks on the journey to school with your child,
 Meeting your child’s new teacher, and introducing your child to them,
 Visiting your child’s new classroom, and
 Playing on the playground.

You might find it helpful to schedule a meeting to go to your child’s new school with them to meet their teacher and look around the classroom. You may also like to go back on the weekend so that they can play in the playground while it is empty. Supporting your child these changes can help to create a positive and nurturing experience for your child.
